about Shadowhide's art...
General focus these days is on Macro & NSFW art, mostly digital, sometimes paper sketches. Lots of other random subjects and themes in-between all of that, both for fun and for self-expression.Nearly all sketches (99% of them) and occasionally some WIP shots are exclusively available to Patrons, even for the £1 tier! Most digital artwork commissions take anywhere between 8 and 16 hours to complete, and serious personal works are usually around similar ranges too. Interestingly, most acrylics works would usually take about 8 hours too.The traditional art side mostly involves acrylics and is generally not available, viewable or being produced just at the moment. Hopefully a return to such things some day soon. The background behind these pages is a concept piece of my own therein depicting the wreck of the fictional UHV Promise on an equally fictional sandy desert moon, called Calypso.
...and Shadowhide himself
I currently live in Great Britain but wasn't born here, and I have no particular fixation or special love for any specific nationality, even if I find some cultures very interesting, including the one I came from.Although I spent three years (lazily) doing Visual Arts in high school (college), and almost five years more doing Design and Game Design at university level, I'm actually first and foremost a self-taught artist, only having some limited experience training to paint with oils under a master's guidance. As far as I know, I've had Fibromyalgia since an early point in my life as well as painful Hypermobility since pretty much forever. As a result, I have pain and fatigue of some sort pretty much every day. It sucks, though there are worse things in life. I am grateful for five fingers on each hand, two arms and two legs and feet...Though it affects life negatively, my conditions have greatly influenced the views I have on life and generally taught me to be tolerant and patient with others, as much as possible.Talking with other people is usually decent fun for me and I like in-depth discussions, even if I can't always manage to be coherent.Besides art in general, my favourite topics and things to delve in are games, symbolism and dreams, though anything relating to "exploration of Self" is usually of interest to me too.

Terms of Service (TL:DR?)
Applicable to Commissions, YCH, Patreon and so on
These terms are long and I appreciate patience is required to take it in.
Not reading the terms or being ignorant to them cannot substitute acknowledging the terms. __Ignorance cannot be an excuse__.
When you pay me to work on some artwork or anything else, these terms always apply. For your own sake, please make sure that you have read and understood these terms. If you have any questions or doubts, please reach out to me on FA, Twitter, or via the contact form.
Reposting, "Copyright" and DNP information
Important
You must have permission/general consent from a character's copyright owner to request that the character appear in commissioned artwork.
The only exception to the above is that I draw fan art, but may refuse in some circumstances.
The largest dimension of my working resolution varies and is typically between 2,400px and 4,800px. The resolution can sometimes be a bit higher and sometimes a bit lower, you can expect a 50% margin of size in either direction.
I can draw without any reference, but do adjust your expectations accordingly.
Please provide any and all reference you do want me to use; this can be reference sheets, specific styles, inspiration, etc.
Artwork Examples
Much of my artwork can be seen at several of my online presences, including the home page here!Even if you don't see an example of what you might want, I'd be happy to discuss an idea.I'm aware some artwork in my galleries is of an arguably lower quality; some of it is just old, though my self-expectation can be different when I'm making art for myself too.
Paid Artwork Themes
Will do most artwork, my preferences below
Most comfortable with:
Macro/Micro, Soft Vore, Size Difference
Classic compositions and Pin-ups (you can provide a specific reference)
Shots focusing on a specific area/body part
Reptilian and canine anthros
Abstract, surreal and fleshy stuff, like body horror
Will NOT Draw:
Cub (a cute non-sexualised drawing could be fine)
Any otherwise underaged characters
Excessive violence or gore†
Discriminating artwork†
Political messages†
Case-by-case, might refuse:
Excessive violence in general
Scat/golden shower, Inflation & certain other kinks
Graphic vore or digestion (i.e. things like a micro getting snapped in half by a macro)
Some types of IP fan art
Still not sure if I'd draw a certain theme? Just ask!

Communication
Generally, we can use Discord or FA notes to talk. Drop a shout on FA or send me a note to ask me for Discord details as required. Otherwise, please use the contact form on this site to provide me with your Discord username or to enquire about requesting a commission.
General Commission Terms
All produced artwork will be signed and dated, but this can be made less visible.
I retain the right to post/repost the artwork myself, here or elsewhere, but all character rights remain yours or their rightful owners'. I will never purposefully claim to own one of your characters.
You and anyone else to have a character featured on artwork, retain the right to post/repost the completed artwork as you please, with the implicit requirement that you credit me as the author and that you credit anything else of relevance as required.
I have the right to refuse commission requests for any reason.
Please let me know in advance if you wish to remain anonymous, either in part or fully.
Commission Process and Flow
First, you request a commission, and we start by discussing the request. I may draw some initial sketches for you as part of this initial discussion, but please note that I will not make an unlimited amount of sketches or alternate ideas.Once you pay, work will begin as soon as possible. I will provide WIP shots from time to time, and you can request that I show you any other aspect of the WIP artwork as required, such as a zoomed-in screenshot of an area. Please note, it is rare that I provide any updates on a weekend, generally updates only happen during weekdays, usually after sessions of working on a piece. If something is starting to look more finalised, I can still make small changes, within reason. If you think you're going to be dissatisfied with something in particular, please let me know as soon as possible. As a piece progresses, it becomes increasingly complex to alter any compositional elements. The sad truth is that no amount of changes can correct an initial composition that did not actually meet the initial needs for a piece of artwork. This is why it's of absolute importance that you let me know of any required changes as soon as possible, otherwise even small changes late in the process may look "tacked on".Once the artwork is finished, I will give you 48 hours to review it, but after that I'll consider a commission "done" and will not make further changes to it unless something is seriously wrong with it.
Payment
Payments will generally be made through PayPal.To do this, you give me an e-mail address and I make a money request to that e-mail, through PayPal's website. A PayPal account is not required for this to work.If you don't feel comfortable with this for some reason and want to pay using some other means, this can be discussed.
Pricing
I know people budget for things but please note that for most full commissions involving a level of detail as seen in previous ones so far, my pricing has worked out at about £4.5-£6 per hour on average, which is close to half of the minimum wage where I live. Many of those detailed commissions have taken a total time averaging between 14 to 18 hours.I don't mind discussing pricing and I can be willing to compromise on the price, if you are willing to compromise toward a simpler idea or finish. If you would like to engage in some sort of trade for a commission, I am open to trade offers made in good faith, so long as I can place either personal or financial value on the trade.
Paid Artwork Refunds
You can change your mind about extras, as long as I haven't started working on them or gotten deeply into them.Otherwise, refunds will provided in good faith only if it feels applicable and solely on a case-by-case basis.
Notes:
† Sometimes I work on personal art which people might interpret to be within these themes; this does not mean I am condoning certain acts of violent nature, nor does it mean that I'm automatically willing to express things within similar themes on behalf of someone else. It just means I have my own opinions and thoughts, too, which I might express through visual means.
Terms TL:DR
Basically an agreement as follows will take place:
Some ideas are okay, others are not, ask if you're not sure.
Refunds are rare and payment is usually via PayPal.
Commission WIP shots are shown every so often and we discuss via Discord or FA notes.
The art and its rights technically belong to me, the characters belong to whoever owns them. We can both repost the commissioned art.
The TL:DR of the terms is NOT a substitute for reading the full terms.
Please use the form below to contact me if you'd rather not use one of the other available alternatives.Note: To contact me via Discord, you must either PM me on another site or provide your exact Discord username via this contact form!
